Our client recovered $875,000.00 as a result of a rear-end accident in 2023 litigation styled Cause No. 2023-56291; Tiffany Rosas, Individually and As Next Friend of I.R., X.R., N.R. and J.R., Minors v. Don’s Cold Storage and Transportation, LLC and James Edward Brantley, III; In the 125th Judicial District Court of Harris County, Texas. Our client suffered back and neck injuries as a result of the accident, though, notably, the case did not involve any surgeries and no injuries were reported at the scene of the accident.
The case arose out of a tractor-trailer collision that occurred in Houston, Texas. The tortfeasor, who was operating a tractor-trailer combination while in the course and scope of his employment with a commercial motor carrier and traveling directly behind our client, failed to control his speed and struck our client’s vehicle from the rear. No injuries were reported at the scene. Medical bills were less than $100,000.00, with the settlement representing nearly 10-times the amount of the medical expenses.
